CNS IHC Analysis

CNS (Central Nervous System) diseases cover a wide spectrum of debilitating conditions including Neurodegenerative diseases (Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s), Psychosis (Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder), Depression, Sleep Disorders and Pain.

We provide a range of image analysis parameters for evaluation of CNS study end points, which incorporate IHC/histology methods including quantification of brain structures, cell types, neurotransmitter distribution, infarct regions, beta amyloid deposits and many more.

Analysis Approach

Customised algorithms are designed for each specific CNS study request, taking into account the tissue type or region to be analysed, the cellular analysis required and the data read-outs to be delivered. Example images shown highlight detection of specific structural regions across whole brain sections. Furthermore, nuclear count can be performed.

Quantitative Readouts

  • Neuroreceptor and Neurotransmitter staining in specific brain regions
  • Axonal, Dendritic & Neurofilament staining
  • Other CNS specific markers within brain & spinal cord tissue on request
  • Quantitative analysis of CNS tissue biomarker for correlation with plasma / CSF biomarker
  • Axon morphology measurements including axon density and demyelination
